The Stick by Sharpow®
Simple knife maintenance for keeping your knives cutting well between sharpenings. This does not replace sharpening. Grab a Sharpow Kit for sharpening.
The Stick by Sharpow is a flat, stable maintenance tool that refreshes cutting edges with a motion as familiar as buttering bread. It is not a hone and it is not a traditional sharpener. It sits in between, providing light abrasion that brings back bite without removing unnecessary metal.
Used spine-forward (edge trailing, LEARN MORE), the Stick helps restore performance on knives that are starting to feel tired from everyday use. A few smooth passes, tip first and heel last, and you’ll feel the edge come back to life.
Why It Works
- Edge-trailing motion: spine forward, moving tip to heel, like buttering bread. Light abrasion refreshes cutting edges.
- Flat, stable form: rests on the counter so you don’t need air-honing or precise angles if you don't want to. Keeping knives sharp need not be a project.
- Performance-grade abrasive: consistent particle size for more predictable and uniform touch-ups.
- Aluminum body: light, rigid, durable, and won’t roll off your station.
- Compact format: fits in drawers, next to stations, knife rolls, travel kits, and/or knife-block slots.
- Eastern & Western options: 30 micron for Western steels, 9 micron for harder Eastern steels.
How to Use (Beginner)
- Place The Stick flat on the counter next to the edge.
- Hold your knife spine-forward and edge trailing, the same way you would spread butter.
- Start at the tip and glide toward the heel in a smooth, shallow pass (No shadow under the cutting edge). Use minimal pressure at first and let the abrasive work.
- Repeat on the other side for a short series of passes until the edge feels lightly toothy.
- Wipe the blade clean and continue cooking.
This is everyday maintenance, not full sharpening. Use it to keep performance higher between professional sharpenings or Sharpow shipped sharpening.
